Vtg Mounted Road Runner Bird Taxidermy

Description

This is a vintage mounted Chaparral Bird. It is one of the ground Cuckoos and has been depicted in a cartoon as "The Road Runner".I bought it at a sale; the man said it is mounted on a piece of petrified or drift wood; and was stored in the basement for quite a long time. It needs to be cleaned as it has alot of dust, etc. on it. The bird measures 8 inches in length; the wood is 9" long, 7  1/2" high and 5  1/2" wide. Unusual.
